Edwin Hammersmith came to the United States from his native England some 30+ years ago. A naturalized citizen, this American sports a cheeky accent and a wicked editing pen. Samantha Harris cut her teeth on the crime beat of Chicago. After several years of chasing stiffs, she moved to the cutthroat world of business in the Windy City. Since then, she retired to the more civilized business of Springfield finances and (sometimes) politics. She’s got a great instinct for a story.

Trey Brock is one of the newer members of the SBC team. He grew up in an entrepreneurial family, sold his first start-up to pay for journalism school and found a home of the West Coast before moving back to the middle of the country. Born in Missouri, he is definitely all about “show me” when it comes to claims made by businesses and governments. When he writes it, you know you can trust it.

Chase Jones began his career as an assistant and stringer with The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated. Since then, he built a successful photojournalism career picking up regional awards and an impressive portfolio along the way. Since those early days on the field and courts, he moved into business and finance journalism – covering mostly electronics and high tech.
